El Salvador .. Why Help?

Natural Disasters in El Salvador
In January 2001 a major earthquake touched off a mudslide that buried the middle-class neighborhood of Las Colinas, a suburb of San Salvador. Scores of shacks in surrounding impoverished shanty town also collapsed. This left more than 250,000 El Salvadorians homeless. To rebuild will cost more than half of the country’s yearly budget. Meanwhile more than 3000 aftershocks - some nearly as devastating as the original tremor - continue to ripple through the region.

How we will be helping
Through EMCC World Partners, our team will be
• Building 4 simple pre-fabricated houses for the poor and homeless
• Setting up medical clinics for those who cannot afford medical care
