Creativity in paintings
Painting has real depth. Maybe it is me, but sometimes landscape photography seems flat. I've read about a pro staying in one spot waiting for the clouds and light to be just right for that $100 shot. It is all about lighting and trying to take advantage of it. A moment captured in time. I would not have the patience. I fall into the point-and-click genre. That was nice, now let's go.
We all have gifts and talents. Place a hammer in ones hand and a house is built. Place a paint brush in one's hand and it becomes music on the canvas. Place a guitar in the hand and you'll hear sounds come to life . . . or run for the hills (now I'm getting silly).

I took this winter photo showing my cross country ski tracks in the winter snow. To me, it depicts the anticipated time of the year for that fluffy white stuff. If I have any energy left after shovelling the stuff, I get to transport myself on skis over it,  exploring where no one has been before.

Thinking about God. He breathed into dirt and created us. Of course, He will always be at work in our hearts working on the canvas of our life if we let Him. "We are the CLAY, you are the POTTER; we are ALL the the WORK of YOUR HAND." Isaiah 64:8 It is ok to marvel at creation! But give praise & thanks to the Creator..

Thanks, Sheila, for your creative side.

Here is two paintings for the Cambridge Memorial Hospital fundraiser. In addition to the auction fundraiser, the 12 images will also be part of a calendar that will be sold to raise money for the hospital.

Creativity in photography & paintings

I was privileged to have an artist (Sheila Diemert) paint a couple of my photos that she viewed on my international portfolio. To me, this demonstrates her creative vision.
My watercolour teacher said, "If you have a photograph, why would you want a painting of it?"
Artist merit comes to mind. Freedom to interpret. Taking it to another level. Of course, art is very subjective and you become open to criticism. View my photo, and the enhanced interpretations of 40 x 60 inch paintings by done by Sheila.
