Arts, Business, Creativity
I attended the second annual Arts, Business, Creativity 2009 conference. It was very well attended by entrepreneurs, artists, musicians, writers, photographers, painters, jewellers, crafters, marketers, web designers and even out-of-town guests.
It was equally well-organized. Applause to Jeremy Dueck, interim administrator, Waterloo Region Small Business Centre, and all others involved.
It was a win-win situation: guest panels and speakers shared their experience, strengths and hopes.
What I learned: arts and entertainment is a luxury, but something as simple as giving a greeting card or volunteering your skills to others can pay dividends. It may take years for a small business or an individual to become recognizable.
Lunch and breaks allowed time to share services and ideas with other like-minded individuals.
I enjoyed the backdrop, an inside look at Cambridge City Hall, while seminar sessions gave insiders a peek at the Cambridge Centre for the Arts and the David Durward Centre.

2010 Arts, Business, Creativity event will be taking place on April 17th in Waterloo. Information will be on the waterloo region small business.com website soon.
